National Cancer Institute reported that foods containing FLAVONOIDS like the ones in apple may reduce the risk of LUNG CANCERby as much as 50%.
         Apples have the second highest level of ANTIOXIDANT activity of any other commonly consumed fruit in the United States (beaten out only by cranberries).Apples contain PECTIN,a valuable source of soluble fiber that can lower BAD CHOLESTEROL (LDL) and help regulate BLOOD SUGAR level.Speaking of sugar,apples do have some sugar (fructose).The sugar in apples come wrapped with 5 g of fiber and rich blend of nutrients,very different from the high-fructose corn syrup used to sweeten every junk food in the market. Apples are the best dietary sources of BORON a mineral that has real bone-building properties and is an important part of an OSTEOPOROSIS prevention program.An article in the Journal of Applied Nutrition demonstrated a high probability that there’s a connection between not having enough boron in your system and having symptoms of ARTHRITIS.
