2.For hard to remove STAINS on the kitchen surfaces,apply BAKING POWDER to a damp sponge and wipe as usual.The abrasive powder will get rid of most stains,but if marks remain,try soaking the stain with solution of BAKING POWDER and WATER first,then wipe.

3.Instead of using WINDOW CLEANING sprays that contain ammonia,which is harmful to wildlife,wash your WINDOWS with PURE SOAP and WATER and rinse with a solution of one part VINEGAR to four parts WATER.Use washable,reusable cloth instead of paper towels.

4.CEILING FANS can reduce AIR CONDITIONING COSTS by as much as 40% in the summer,but can also save energy in the winter by keeping cool air from pooling on the floor.

5.GLOSS FINISH PAINT contains more volatile organic compounds and solvents than MATTE-FINISH PAINT or STAIN,so select wood and wall finishes with care to reduce AIR POLLUTION inside your HOME.

6.Don’t allow LIME DEPOSITS to build up on your SHOWER HEAD.To keep your shower working efficiently,regularly remove and SOAK the shower head in WHITE VINEGAR to de-scale and clean.Use a pin to poke through any blocked holes.

7.Don’t use chemical-based stain removers for vegetable and fruit based stains on clothes.Apply LEMON JUICE instead to get rid of STAINS before washing as usual.Drying clothes outdoors helps bleach out stains too.

8.If you want your LAWN to stay WEED-FREE,keep the grass long rather than cutting it short.Taller blades shade the roots,discouraging weed growth.Keep GRASS about 3 inches LONG for natural weed prevention.

9.To make the most of your home’s HEATING SYSTEM,INSULATE your FLOOR properly.Be sure to leave gaps for ventilation,but not enough space for drafts to develop.

10.If you have a stove,heater,or furnace that has a FILTER,REPLACE IT REGULARLY because heating systems use more energy when filters are full of dust.Better still,install a WASHABLE FILTER and make sure it’s cleaned once a month.
